Are You Our Next Barre Star?
Saturday-Sunday, October 14 & 15:
Do you love Barre Fitness? Have you ever considered training to become a Barre Instructor? StudioBFF is the home of the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association (IBBFA) and its internationally recognized Barre Certification program. For years, IBBFA and Barre Certification have been training Barre Instructors around the world through our online program, which is consistently recognized as the best in the industry.
Our own Barre Tender, Dr. Mar Mancha, is going to be leading two workshops to earn her certification as a Master Instructor:
- Barre Essentials on Saturday, October 14: This workshop is designed for people new to Barre or Barre enthusiasts who are considering getting certified to teach; you will learn about the history of Barre, as well as the basic concepts that make up the foundation of the method.
- Barre Level 1 on Sunday, October 15: This workshop is the beginning of your certification journey! You will learn the basic anatomy and physiology of Barre, as well as the most important aspects of teaching group fitness.
As part of our new Master Instructor Program, we are offering our clients the chance to attend one or both workshops FOR FREE. We will be filming the classes, but this is your chance to ask valuable questions and determine if teaching Barre is right for you. Typically the online course and workshop are $700, but those interested in pursuing their certification will receive a 65% discount on our fully online, self-paced Barre Level 1 Certification program ($250).
Please share widely with your fitness-obsessed friends and email us for more details and to reserve your spot!

Tell your sweetheart to start stretching, because Fall 2017 Man Week is right around the corner! If he’s been wondering what all this talk of tucking and shaking is all about, this is his opportunity to find out. We adapt all your favorite classes to make them more “man-friendly,” so whether he wants to see if he can out-plié you or maybe learn to lift ladies instead of weights, Man Week will be here in November! The CaZo Asylum opens back up on Friday the 13th
CaZo Dance Company would like to announce the third feature-length chapter in the beloved Asylum trilogy, Asylum: Resurrection, coming to the Phoenix Center for the Arts on Friday, October 13, 2017.
For two years, patrons at the Phoenix Center for the Arts have laid witness to the horrors of the CaZo Asylum. After the death of Dr. Zillo in Asylum: The Undertaking, telekinetic Carrie has opened the asylum once again with a new crop of famous characters that’ll drive you mad, including Norma Bates, one of several new staff members hired to rebuild the asylum to its former glory. But with her and her son’s arrival, insanity begins to manifest itself in dangerous ways.
“Each chapter of Asylum is based on a different theme,” says CaZo Dance Company owner and choreographer Bridgette Borzillo. “The first was about an all-female asylum and the empowerment of these characters rising up against their male staff. The second chapter expanded to male patients, which allowed us to explore how an alleged sick person trying to find stability would react when threatened to perform acts of violence. This third chapter takes things even further, dealing a lot more with the overpowering force of addiction.”
Continuing their tradition of bringing famous cinematic characters together, Borzillo has assembled a terrific cast to portray some of the most psychotic characters from the silver screen. Joining returning players from films like Black Swan and Carrie are characters from Silence of the Lambs, A Cure for Wellness, Nightmare On Elm Street 3, and Drop Dead Fred, among others.
“I’ve always thought it was a cool idea to bring together characters from different movies to interact with one another,” Borzillo says. “And though I knew who the characters were in the first two chapters, the audience may not have. So this year, I’m doing some things to heighten that idea and make it clear to the audience what characters are being represented in the show.”
Performances of Asylum: Resurrection will be presented on Friday, October 13th at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 14th at 5 and 8 p.m. in the 3rd Street Theatre at Phoenix Center for the Arts in Phoenix, Arizona. Tickets are on sale now at www.cazodance.com. Prices are $20 per ticket, or $15 for students (plus $1 surcharge).
Whether you’ve dared enter the asylum in the past, you won’t want to miss this final chapter in the Asylum trilogy. Will anyone make it out of the asylum alive? Only time will tell.
